BERTHA MAE MORRISON

Services for Bertha Mae Morrison, 85, 512 W. Hagerman St., will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the West Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bob Bacon of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Carlsbad Cemetery.

Mrs. Morrison died at her home April 24, 1986.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

She was born Jan. 11, 1901, in Doni Phan, Mo., and she was raised in Oklahoma and Missouri. In 1919, she married Charles B. Morrison in Okemah, Okla. In 1923, they moved to Dora, N.M., where they farmed. They eventually moved to Carlsbad in 1939.

She was a nursery attendant at the First Baptist Church for many years where she was also a member.

Survivors include: seven sons, John M. ad Clarence O. Morrison, both of Dallas, Texas, Hiram S. Morrison, Los Angeles, Calif., C.B. Morrison, LaPorte, Texas, Kenneth and Asa B. Morrison, both of Las Vegas, Nev., and Glenn Morrison, Grand Junction, Colo.; six daughters, Dorotha M. Wilkinson and Retha M. Calhoun, both of Carlsbad; Barbara M. Hesler, Gulf Breeze, Fla., Bertha Fay Dougherty, St. Jo, Texas, Bonita M. Woods, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Sharon R. Carman, Scottsdale, Ariz.; 34 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
