NEWPORT NEWS-Barry Dean Trexler, 68, passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2010. He was born in Salisbury, N.C., and had lived in Newport News for the last 66 years and was employed by EG & G as a heating and a/c mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Myrtle Trexler; and a nephew, Todd Trexler.
Survivors include his companion, Eleanor Helmick; brother, Tony Trexler and his wife, Kathy of Hopewell; niece, Lori Trexler of Newport News; and extended family, Raymond Church and Dawn and family; Howard Helmick and Krystina and family; numerous family, friends, and favorite companion, Muppett.
The family will receive friends at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Peninsula Funeral Home with funeral services to begin at 10 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Clarence Hilling. Burial will follow in Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association , Norfolk VA Office, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Greenbrier Tower II, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320 or your favorite charity.
