Mrs. Ovanda F. Voris, 90, Sharpsville
route 2, near Nevada,died at
8:20 p.m. Saturday at Tipton County
Hospital where she had been admitted
a day earlier after failing
health over the last ten years. Services
will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday
from the Warner Funeral Home
in Sharpsville with Rev. Chester
Miller officiating and burial will be
in Sharpsville Cemetery. Friends
may call anytime at the funeral
home.
Mrs. Voris was born Jan. 16, 1870
near Nevada, the daughter of Purnell
and Catherine (Griffith) Cottingham.
She was married in Tipton
Jan. 3, 1917 to James H. Voris,
who died in 1947. She was a student
at Nevada school and a member of
the Nevada Methodist church.
Survivors include two sons, Dallas L. Voris,
Kokomo; Clyde D.Voris of Sharpsville; a brother,
Joshua Cottingham of Kokomo, 4
grandchildren and five great-grand
children and a number of nieces
and nephews. One niece, Doris,
who had been raised with the Voris family
died in 1958.
