Butcher, Barbara June

Barbara June (Clewell) Butcher, 79, died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at York Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Home Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Butcher was born on February 4, 1925 in York. She was the daughter of the late Lottie M. Butcher. She was a small business owner of Barbara Butcher's Beauty Shop, where she worked as a beautician for 25 years. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Red Lion and a graduate of Red Lion High School.

Mrs. Butcher loved crocheting and won several first place awards for her work at the York County Fair.

Mrs. Butcher is survived by her son, Thomas H. Butcher II of York; her daughter, Susan B. Trout of York; and five grandchildren, Marc J. Keller of Red Lion, Christi J. Brown of York, Stephanie A. Durstine of Iowa, Andrew C. Trout of York and Elizabeth S. Butcher of York. She was preceded in death by her three brothers.
