She was born in Hartsville, SC, to the late Hazel and Eunice Sansbury. While at an early age, they moved to Charleston, SC which she considered home.
Judy graduated from Charleston High School in 1956 and was a member of the National Honor Society, and was active in other school activities including the school newspaper.
After graduating from high school, she worked for the power company for two years. During that time, she met and in March of 1958, married her husband, Larry, who was in the Navy.
Upon leaving the Navy, the couple moved to Lincoln, NE where he attended engineering school, and she worked for the University of Nebraska Press.
Judy was a homemaker devoted to caring for her family. Her hobbies included arts and crafts, quilt making, jogging and walking, and genealogy, which spanned 35 years and many trips looking for family roots.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of 52 years; her daughter, Lisa S. Milligan and husband, Edward of Smithburg, MD; her son, Neil E. Snyder and wife, Cheryl, of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Milligan and Jordan and Avery Snyder; three sisters, Barbara S. Bowman of Charlotte, NC, Betty S. Rowland of Greer, SC and Carol S. Wheeler of Charleston, SC; and her three brothers, Marshall A. Sansbury of Fort Worth, TX, Chester E. Sansbury of Columbia, SC and John P. Sansbury of Charleston, SC.
Interment: Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
