Ronald G. Arthur died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Riverside Medical Center following an extended illness.

Ron worked for Arthur Motor Works in Kankakee and the state of Illinois Driver's License Bureau in Bradley. He was born November 6, 1934, in Kankakee, the son of Alfred C. and Pearl Bevan Arthur.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1963. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his church, collecting treasures and working jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Y. Riley, of Bradley, whom he married Oct. 11, 1959, in Columbus, Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Jeff Bonty, Allison and Jason Martin; three grandchildren, Ian Graham, Ryan Graham and Kaleigh Martin; two stepgrandchildren, Meghann Bonty and Courtney Bonty; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Gloria Toledo, Beverly Fortin, Joanne and Earl Marcotte and Gladys Fowler; one sister-in-law, Gladys Arthur; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard; and one brother-in-law, Clayton Fortin.
