CRESPIN ALVAREZ

Rosary services will be held today at 7 p.m. in the West Funeral Home chapel for Crespin Lujan Alvarez, 94, 1918 Manzana Road, who died Saturday in a Carlsbad hospital.

Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the San Jose Mission with burial to follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.

Alvarez, a member of San Jose Mission, was a silver miner in Shafter, Texas, and later a farmer in Presidio, Texas. He moved here in 1960.

Survivors include four sons, Manuel Alvarez, Carlsbad, Crespin Alvarez Jr., San Antonio, Texas, Herman Alvarez, Pecos, Texas, and Natividad Alvarez, Barstow, Texas; three daughters, Josefina Armendarez and Eulalia Gonzales, both of Carlsbad, and Alecia Bitolas, California, two brothers, Juan and Francisco Alvarez, both of Ojinaga, Mexico; a sister, Marguerita Ramos, Ojinaga; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pall bearers will be Robert Armendariz Jr., Rolando Gonzalez, Sammy Alvarez, David Bitolas, Lupe Alvarez, Jesse Alvarez and Leo Alvarez.
