(From newspaper obituary): LtCol Lucien N. "Skip" Hudson Jr. ----- Skip Hudson passed away on December 31, 2008, surrounded by his immediate family and friends. He is survived by his wife C.Anne, daughter Leigha and sister Edith Hudson. Skip was born in Philadelphia on November 21, 1942, the son of Lucien N. Hudson (Luke) and Dorothy Coombs Hudson, both of whom predeceased him. Skip enlisted as a Private in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from high school in 1961. He rose through the ranks to retire in 1989 as a Lieutenant Colonel working primarily with tactical air support systems. Skip married C. Anne Koss Hudson on July 2, 1966, in Fort Myers, Florida, and they were happily married for forty-two years at the time of his death. Skip and C. Anne fell in love with San Diego over thirty years ago when they visited here. Shortly thereafter, they moved to San Diego in 1977, where Skip retired from the Marine Corps in 1989, and started his second career as Vice President of New Cars, Inc. He retired from his second career in 2007, and took up a lifelong dream of sailing on his 35-foot Erickson named "Set Free." Skip loved life, his family and his friends deeply. We are celebrating his life with a Military Service to be held on January 20, 2009, promptly at 3:00 p.m., at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Those who wish to attend should assemble by 2:45 p.m. at the cemetery office to be taken to the site of the service. Please Google Rosecrans National Cemetery and view map for directions.
