She married Vardy T Batson Aug 5 1899. they had 5 children. Vardy died in 1912. She married Dave Robert Manning Nov 3 1913. She either divorced him or remarried after his death in 1968. She was also married to A.C. Black in Madison County, Texas on 18 May 1933.

OBIT: Mrs. Emma Black passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Lee Berry in Port Arthur on November 18th, after a long illness. Mrs. Black was 62 years of age.
She had made her home with her children for several years after her health failed. She had been a telephone operator at North Zulch for a number of years. Her body was brought to the home of Mrs. Jake Cameron in Normangee by train. Services were held at the First Baptist church, conducted by the pastor, Bro. Bullock. Three daughters and two sons and many relatives survive: Mrs. Lee Berry, Mrs. Jimmie Almond, Mrs. J. A. Guest, Ancel Batson, Raymond Manning; twelve grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Pegues of Normangee, Mrs. M. J. Gilbert of Humble, and John Baker of Groesbeck; several neices and nephews.
Riddle Funeral Co. of Mexia directed the funeral. Internment in Hopewell Cemetery.
A good Christian woman has passed to her reward.
