FUNERAL OF MRS. J. R. BROWN YESTERDAY AFTERNOON
The funeral of Mrs. J.R. Brown, a Muskegon resident prominent in church work and active in the woman's club, was held yesterday afternoon marked by beautiful flowers. It took place at the residence, 162 Terrace street. Rev. William Galpin, rector of St. Paul's, read the burial service of the Protestant Episcopal church.
The hymns were sung by Miss Emma L. Dratz and Miss Maude B. Etches. They rendered "Jesus, Lover of My Soul", and "Nearer My God to Thee".
The burial was in Evergreen cemetery. Those who acted as pall bearers were James Gow, Charles Sisson, Edward D. Magoon, Philip W. Schnorbach, Gilbert R. Sherman, George M. Gotshall.
Among friend and relatives from other places who attended the service were her son, Francis A. brown of Big rapids, and Mrs. Joseph Barton, Mrs. M.G. Neville, and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Wing of Big Prairie, Newaygo county.
