William Andy Sr. was fourth eldest child born to Cornelius Lee Sr. and Ivey Hardridge Andy, on May 13, 1924, in the small town of Gibson Station. He attended Lincoln High School in Wagoner. He met Geneva Simmons while working at the Mayo Hotel in Tulsa. They married in 1948. To this union they were blessed with five children. William relocated to Kansas City, Mo. in 1961, and united in marriage to Parthenia Lewis on July 16, 1962. William worked for a number of years for Borden's Dairy Company, and he retired from Wonder Bread Bakery in Kansas City, Mo. in 1989. William relocated back to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in March of 2005. In 2009 he professed a hope in Christ and joined New Degree Praise Center Church, and was baptized. After battling kidney disease and a regimen of weekly dialysis treatments, he grew weary, and tired and passed quietly, and peacefully, on Nov. 22 while at home. His wife Parthenia and youngest daughter, Yvonne Bell, were at his bedside. William was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert Andy, Louie Andy and the Reverend Cornelius Lee Andy Jr.; two sisters, Magnolia Poe and Melvina Matthews; his eldest granddaughter, LaTerria Patrice Elmor; stepson, Frederick Ronald Lewis Jr., and best friend, Roland Thompson. William Andy Sr. leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Parthenia, of the home; his children, Barbara Andy, of San Antonio; Terry Andy Sr. and wife, Beverly, of Centennial, Colo., Theresa Christian, of Tulsa, Yvonne and husband, Bishop Q.L. Bell, of Tulsa, William Andy Jr., of Tulsa; stepchildren, Josephine Harris, of Bartlesville, Carol Ann Cargo, of Kansas City, Kan., and Keith D. Lewis, of Tulsa. In addition, he leaves to continue his legacy, 31 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several cousins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30. at the New Degree Praise Center. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation was from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29 at Jack's Memory Chapel. Jack's Memory Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
