ALBERT DONOVAN, 89 DIES HERE
He Was a Merchant at Sumner for Years.
Albert Donovan, 89, father of Rex Donovan of Chillicothe, died at 3:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Susan's Nursing Home.
He was born September 2, 1867, in Hillsdale County, Michigan, son of John and Mary Jane Morland Donovan. He married Nora E Harris of Eversonville, Missouri, November 16, 1893, at Chula. They resided on a farm near Laredo, later moving to Hale. In 1913 they moved to Sumner where he spent the remainder of his life. He was engaged in the feed, grain and poultry business.
He was a member of the Baptist church of Hale and was active in the Odd Fellows Lodge.
He is survived by two sons, J Rex Donovan, Chillicothe, and G D Donovan, Canton, Illinois, and one daughter, Mrs E J Smart, Sumner. He also leaves eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, in 1950, four brothers, one sister, and an infant son.
The body will remain at the Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield until Thursday noon when it will be removed to the Methodist church in Sumner to lie in state until 2 o'clock, the hour of the funeral. Burial will be in the Lakeside cemetery at Sumner.
