"Frances C. Darrenkamp, 90, of Landisville passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Her first husband, Clarence Gantz, Sr. died in 1958 and her second husband, Henry Darrenkamp died in 1984.

A homemaker, Frances was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed polka music. She operated a stand at the former Columbia market for many years and became well known for her apple dumplings, homemade peanut butter eggs, and wedding cakes.

Born in Hellam, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dora Mae Steiner Gromling.

Frances will be missed by her children, Doris Stum, Mount Joy, Nancy Aument, Rohrerstown, Linda married to Billy Wilson, Alpha, IL, Karen Bechtold, Millersville, and Clarence Jr., married to Glenda Wolf Gantz, Denver; ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Rhoda Bellon, Millersburg and Anna Mae Ruhl, Manheim. A daughter Dorothy Viola Gantz preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral for Frances at Sheetz Funeral Home, 16 E. Main St., Mount Joy on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Salunga Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 until 10 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn., 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603."
