He served 12 years as postmaster of the borough and 8 years as a county commissioner. He was a blacksmith by trade and conducted a shop in Tionesta with Joseph Clark for 17 years. He was a member of the F. & A.M.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Tyler and Mrs. Bertha Cox of Cleveland and Mrs. Leona Zahnieiter of New Britain, Conn.
The body was taken to Meadville where funeral services will be held this afternoon.
