Tornado Storm Destroys Home, Takes Three Lives

It was an awful tragedy that snuffed out the lives of three of our citizens on the afternoon of Christmas Day. Mr. and Mrs. George H. Franklin and Miss Bernice were living about four miles west of town, in the Plainview community. A storm cloud swooped down, demolishing their home, rooted up trees, and left everything a wreck around there. The home and all surroundings were torn into fragments, and scattered all over the country.
After the storm, his son, George, who lived near by, seeing devastation went to look and found the bodies of his father, mother, and sister, all bruised and bones broken, all three dead, scattered around where the home had been. Fragments of the home and belongings were found scattered all over the country.
Bro. R. N. Davis hands us the following data:
G. H. Franklin, born December 24, 1867, in Trinity county Texas, being 73 years and 1 day of age. He has lived in this section since he was a young man. He married Miss Sallie Bell about 43 years ago. Six children were born to them. A baby girl died years ago.
