All Daughters of Utah Pioneers Obituary Scrapbook

Born in Rockville, June 25, 1857, a daughter of William V. and Almira Ayers Black, she had lived here more than 50 years. She was president of Oasis L. D. S. ward Relief society for 25 years. She was the wife of former Bishop John Styler and mother of John V. Styler, present bishop of the Oasis ward.

Surviving, besides her husband and son, are seven daughters, Mrs. Enid Gillen (s/b Mrs. Enoch Gillen, Hilda, per her great-great-granddaughter) of Oasis, Mrs. H. A. Moore and Mrs. Grant A. Caproni of Salt Lake City, Mrs. J. R. Christiansen and Mrs. F. C. Martin of San Gabriel, Cal.; Mrs. A. G. James of San Francisco, and Mrs. W. E. Baker of Ventura, Cal.; 18 grandchildren; five brothers, Joseph V. and Marion Black of Deseret, Albert Black of Midvale, William V. Black Jr. of Ogden and Heber Black of Los Angeles, and seven sisters, Mrs. Lacinda Curtis and Mrs. Nellie Watson of Salt Lake City, Mrs. F. J. Warnick of Provo, Mrs. Annie Hyatt of Richfield, Mrs. Jane Rapley of Tropic, Mrs. Mary Walton of Sacramento, Cal., and Mrs. Agnes McLeod of Long Beach, Cal.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p. m. in the Oasis L. D. S. ward chapel by Peter Peterson, counselor in the bishopric. Burial will be in Oasis cemetery.
