Jacob Black Adams was born May 20, 1861, in Merrittstown Republic, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, a son of the Reverend Jesse Adams and Jane K Adams
From 1867 to 1885 the family lived in Waynesburg, that year Mr. Adams graduating from the Waynesburg College. He received his law degree in the University of Michigan and in 1886 was in the banking business in Kansas. In 1888 he was elected District Attorney of the county there, later moved to Missouri and finally to Uniontown, where he has been practicing law since 1897.
He is an extensive coal land owner, a thirty-second degree Mason, member of Fayette Lodge No. 228 and of the Consistory of Bloomsburg.
