Ernest Eugene Coffey, 76, of Harper Avenue NW, Lenoir, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 8, 1928 in Caldwell County to the late F. H. and Effie Turnmire Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Cloyd Coffey, Lloyd Thomas Coffey, Vilas Lee Coffey and Clyde Coffey and two sisters, Blanche McGee and Coline Coffey. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Jesse Hal Coffey of Lenoir and two sisters, Irene Hartley of Granite Falls and Lois E. Coffey of Lenoir.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Burke County.

Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
