Muskegon Chronicle, Muskegon, Michigan, 1 February 1973, Page 42

PIATT, MRS. CARRIE G., 5367 Point Rd., Twin Lake. Mrs. Carrie G. Piatt, age 58 yrs., passed away Wednesday afternoon at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. She was born March 27, 1914 in Greenwood Twp., Oceana County, and graduated from Whitehall High School and came to Muskegon in 1932 where she attended Business College. She was the former Carrie Nichols and was married to Frederick Piatt on Jan. 21, 1934 in Muskegon. She was a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, member of Friendship Class and W.S.C.S. She also was a member of the Michigan Diabetic Association of Muskegon County Unit and had been active in the school guard program having served for 8 yrs. She is survived by her husband; 3 sons, Robert F. of Ann Arbor, Frederick Jr. of North Muskegon, Gerald F. of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 2 daughters, Mrs. Gerrol (Carol Lynne) Gale of Norton Shores and Miss Eileen Janet Piatt of Muskegon and 9 grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Crestwood United Methodist Church, Rev. Philip R. Glotfelty Jr. officiating and the interment will be in Fruitland Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sytsema Funeral Home beginning at 7:00 p.m. this evening and where they may meet the family 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. For a more lasting memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Crestwood United Methodist Church or the Muskegon County Diabetic Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. —Sytsema."
