Aaron C. Yoakum, age 84, of Lynden, Washington
died Nov 6th, 2008. The son of Cluster and Hazel
Yoakum, Aaron was born Jan 9, 1924 in Booneville,
Indiana, were he lived until the age of 17, at which point
he enlisted in the US Navy. He served four years fighting
in WWII, in the South Pacific, as a Torpedo man
2nd Class, aboard the USS Rogers and other ships.
Aaron married Marietta Hart on June 1, 1946.
Aaron was preceded in death by his wife, Marietta;
son-in-law, Danny Visser; and 8 of his 10 brothers
and sisters.
Aaron is survived by his daughter,
Janice Visser of Bellingham, son, Keith and his
wife Kay, son Dale and his wife Barbara; and his
beloved grandkids, Danny Visser, Jared Yoakum, Nicholas Yoakum,
Christen Yoakum; and great granddaughter, Valerie
Visser.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, Nov 12, 2008
at 11:00 AM at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale. Visitation will be
1 hour prior to the service in Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel.
