JEAN CRAFT ARMENTROUT, 69, of 368 Forest Springs Drive, Stuarts Draft, died Sunday, October 21, 2001 at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville. She was born May 2, 1932 in Roanoke, a daughter of Philip J. and Gladys Via Craft. She had retired from Crompton-Shenandoah, where she had been a velveteen cutter, and had worked at Growing Places Child Care. She was a longtime member of Wayne Hills United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Joe R. Armentrout; three daughters and one son-in-law, Criste M. Armentrout and Lyssa A. Myers, both of Waynesboro, and Tracy A. and Gregory A. Pugh of Afton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy R. and Ann Armentrout of Waynesboro, and Philip A. and Linda Armentrout of Charlottesville; two sisters, Madeline C. Nicely of Clifton Forge and Doris C. Pugh of Christiansburg; seven grandchildren, Kevin R. Ross, Erin E. Armentrout, Emily A. Armentrout, Kristin M. Lindsay, Philip J. Armentrout, Christian A. Armentrout and Emerald J. Armentrout; and a number of nieces and nephews. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDow Funeral Home by Dr. W. Roberts McIvor and Rev. Jack H. Pettyjohn. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Beard, William Hoke, Richard Jones, David Lutton, Gregory Pugh, and Eric Summers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and members of the Monday Night Bible Study. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McDow Funeral Home.
