Woolman was married to Mary Bennington Wrenshall, daughter of John Wrenshall,Sr. and Mary "Polly" Margaret Bennington. After Woolman's death in 1818, Mary married Asa Shinn. In 1860, Mary was living with her daughter, Mary Wood, in Cincinnati, OH.
In 1903 Woolman was reinterred in the Melrose Cemetery, Bridgeville, PA from the First Presbyterian Church Yard on 6th Ave. when the church was torn down and rebuilt.
