On September 13, 1936, she married Oswald Schaffert and he preceded her in death in 1994. They moved from Aurora, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1956. She was sales clerk at Jarold's Clothing Store for 6 years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She was a resident of Hamilton Manor for the past 2 years.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oswald, 9 sisters, 7 brothers, 1 son, Stanley Schaffert, a grandson and a great granddaughter.
