He was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School with the class of 1962 and was employed by The Ridge Tool Company as an Assembler for 44 years, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Mr. Barr loved to play pool and attend movies. He was a talented artist and an avid fisherman.
Mr. Barr is survived by his nieces, Linda (John) Keys and Brenda Barr, both of Elyria and Diana (Dan) Rowley of Plain City, Ohio; nephews, Jeff (Darlene) Kanuch and Mark (Donna) Kanuch, both of Oberlin, Scott Kanuch, Bruce (Maria) Barr and Greg (Patti) Barr all of Elyria and Patrick Barr of Lenexa, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Aletha Kanuch (nee Barr) in 1994; brother, Norman Barr in 2002 and his parents, Clyde Barr in 1980 and Marcella Barr (nee Myers) in 1992.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home Monday, November 29, 2010 followed by Mass at 10 A.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria. The Reverend Father John Vranna, Associate Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
