An inquest to determine the exact cause of death was to be held at the LeSage Mortuary late today. Higgins left his home yesterday afternoon to visit a neighbor, John Hinkley, who lived about 4 miles from the Higgins farm. On the road a passing motorist picked him up and drove him to his destination. Two Lake Amnicon residents, Dan Smith and Francis Issard, went to visit Hinkley. Arriving at the Hinkley farm about 5 o'clock, they found Higgins lying in the yard, dead, apparently the victim of a heart attack. There were no marks of violence on the body Deputy Coroner Coad LeSage said today.
Survivors are six daughters; three sons; a sister and two brothers in Maine.
