Eleanor Fitzsimmons Monacelli, 81, of the 900 block of Stanley Road, a retired cafeteria manager, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1993, in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Monacelli was born in Buffalo, N.Y. She had retired from Churchland Elementary School. She was the widow of John Monacelli. She was a member of Simonsdale Presbyterian Church and was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was also a member of Simonsdale Civic League.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirlee Stamey of Chesapeake and Glenda Lamb of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two sons, Robert J. Monacelli and David T. Monacelli, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Merne Jensen of Chesapeake; a brother, Zane Fitzsimmons of Warrenton, Va.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Simonsdale Presbyterian Church by Dr. Melvin S. Hester. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens . The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Simonsdale Presbyterian Church.
