FORTNER CHARLIE A

Sneedville - Charlie A. Fortner, 72, of Sneedville, died Wednesday, October 17, 1984, at Veterans Hospital in Johnson City. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific. He was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Peggy Harkins Fortner of Sneedville; daughters, Sherry Fortner of Sneedville, Mrs. Gary (Kathy) Beck of Westminster, Maryland, brother, Clyde Fortner of Sneedville; half brother, Joe McDaniel of Sneedville; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mulberry Gap Baptist Church with the Reverend Dennis Jones and Reverend Danny Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Hopkins Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell. This obituary was in the Citizen Tribune on Friday, October 19, 1984.
