Angus Cripps

CRESWELL — A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Eagle Point National Cemetery for Angus Garth Cripps of Creswell, who died Nov. 23 of age-related causes. He was 87.

He was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Cedar, Utah, to Eugene and Laura Dalton Cripps. He married Laura McJunkin on June 23, 1943, in Riverside, Calif. She died in 1997. Clare White was his life partner for three years.

He served in the Army from 1945 to 1946 as a surgical technician at Madigan General Hospital at Fort Lewis, Wash. He worked in a magnesium plant during World War II and later was a auto painter and mechanic in Riverside. He worked in the woods in Oregon and at Dollar Sawmil in Glendale. He owned Discount Tire Shop in Sutherlin until his retirement in 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Hollinger; six grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
