Baxter--Funeral services for Frank Thompson, 85, of Baxter will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Thompson Family Cemetery on the Thompson Ridge Road.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 6 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
Mr. Thompson died on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Bethesda Health Care Center.
He was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Putnam County to the late Arthur Thompson, Sr. and Callie Jared Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a retired farmer, and worked in a factory in Los Angeles, Calif. for 45 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
His family includes his wife, Clara Rodgers Thompson of Baxter; and three brothers, Robert L. Thompson of Baxter, Solon Thompson of Colorado and Arthur Thompson Jr. of Baxter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by two sisters; Opal Fahnestock and Norma Thompson; three brothers, Jennings, Woodrow and PFC Albert C. Thompson, who was killed while serving his country.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Hugh Thompson, Phillip W. Thompson, Stanley Thompson, Eddie Thompson, Tommy Thompson and Albert C. Thompson Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dero Lewis, Bill Marlowe, Bobby Maddux, James McHenry, Richard Curry, Oliver Anderson, Aaron Brewington and Donny Fox.
Bro. Derrick Copeland, Bro. Josh Phillips and Don McCaslin will officiate at the services.
