He was a member of the Ishi Pishi Trailer Club and Moose Lodge No. 636. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he and his wife Ruby operated the Greyhound Bus Depot in Eureka. He was a long-time employee of Brizard and Mathews of Arcata, Calif., and Don Potter Machinery of Klamath Falls.
He is survived by his wife Ruby, Eureka; sons and daughter-in-law Galen Gattis, Dallas, Texas, and Darrell and Clara Gattis, Carlotta, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Karolyn and Robert Halvorsen, Rohnert Park, Calif; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
