Funeral services for the late Green S. Gravely, 82 years of age, and a member of one of Henry Countys' oldest families, who passed away Sunday night at Axton following a long decline in health, were held from the late home Tuesday afternoon, followed by interment in the family burial ground near Axton.
Surviving is his wife, one daughter, Miss Mary Ella Gravely, and four sons, R. W. and J. L. Gravely of Danville; L. N. Gravely of Ringgold; and Gravely [sic] Gravely of Axton, also an adopted son, William Williams of Axton; Mrs. T. E. Gravely of Martinsville who is a niece.
The deceased was the last member of the family of J. K. Gravely of Henry County, and was a brother of the late Benjamin F. Gravely, several years ago he was one of the countys' leading manufacturers of tobacco.

Green Sowers Gravely, son of the late John K. and Mary C. Gravely, and the last surviving member of that family, passed away at his home Sunday, Jan. 27th.
He was born at Dyers Store, Henry County, Va., and married Miss Sallie Will Williams of Pittsylvania County, Va., and she and the following children survive: Lauren Gravely of Ringgold, Va.; Robert W. Gravely of Danville; John L., Pate, and Ella Gravely of Axton, and one nephew, Bill Williams who he reared.
He is an uncle of Mrs. T. E. Gravely of this city, and a great grandson of Joseph Gravely, a soldier in the Revolutionary War, during the American struggle for independence.
Interment was in the Gravely family plot at the home of William Marshall Gravely, near Axton.
