Mark Daniel Eigenbrode, 92, of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 14254 Windy Haven Road, Smithsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at the nursing home.
Born April 24, 1908, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary Bumgardner Eigenbrode.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Olive N. Flohr Eigenbrode, in 1983. They were married Feb. 1, 1930.

He attended Mount Vernon Grade School at Welty Bridge in Pennsylvania.

He retired from Landis Tool Company in the late 1960s. He also had worked at Raymond Baer Feed Mill in Waynesboro, Pa., for many years; and earlier, he worked at Elder Rinehart Dairy farm in Ringgold. During his retirement, he worked for his son, Richard D. Eigenbrode, at the Holiday Inn in Chambersburg, the Best Western in Waynesboro, Pa. and on his son's farm in Waynesboro.

He had been a member of Price's Church of the Brethren in Waynesboro and later Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. He also was a member of Rouzerville Church of the Brethren.

He was a member of Ringgold Ruritan Club.

He is survived by his second wife, Susan K. "Sue" Bumbaugh Schwinger Eigenbrode, whom he married Nov. 21, 1985; a daughter, Barale E. Royer of Harrisburg, Pa.; three sons, Richard D. Eigenbrode of Waynesboro, Mark Eigenbrode of Fort Loudon, Pa. and William F. Eigenbrode of Palatine, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Betty J. Martin of Waynesboro; a sister, Rebecca Martin of Waynesboro; a brother, Russell Eigenbrode of Denton, Md.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; a sister, Retta Eigenbrode; and a brother, Merle Eigenbrode.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. Leonard Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Price's Church Cemetery near Waynesboro.
