Dominick Joseph de Simone 1916 - 2009 A long life, lived full of love and good health, Dom passed late in the evening of 27 November with his family by his side. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother he is preceded by his wife of 50 years, and he is survived by two sisters, two sons, a daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. Born in Harrison, NY, he moved with his young family to Sunnyvale, CA in 1957 to work for Hewlett-Packard and witnessed the transformation of the Bay Area from a quiet ranching community to the center of technology innovation. While he loved technology, he did miss the natural beauty of the orchards and Dominick was seen picking mustard greens in the remaining orchards well into his 80s. He was a great man, fueled by insatiable curiosity. A tinkerer, a fantastic baker, a self-taught photographer with a homemade darkroom, he has been a testament to the joys of life-long learning. He lived out his love for his family every day of his life – we all loved him deeply and are very grateful to have had him in our lives for so many wonderful years. SERVICES: Those who wish are welcome to attend a ROSARY VIGIL on Friday Dec 4 at 7:00pm, and/or the FUNERAL MASS on Saturday Dec 5 at 12:00 noon. Both will be held at ST. SIMONS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1860 Grant Rd, Los Altos, CA. For those interested: In lieu of flowers, please send donations either to the Santa Clara County Chapter of NAMI (Dom and Angie were original members of this organization which does incredible work for the mentally ill and their families) – checks can be sent to: NAMI Santa Clara, 2010 N. First St, #530, San Jose CA 95131; or to the Avon Foundation. (Dom cared deeply about this as Angie was taken by breast cancer) – donations can be done online at http: //donate.avonfoundation.org. LIMA & CAMPAGNA Sunnyvale Mortuary serving the family (408-736-1315).
