Following a long and painful illness of dropsy of the heart, Mr. Whit Bowden died last Saturday afternoon at the home of his father,Mr. Dock Bowden, in Martin. The deceased was in his fifty-third year and is survived by three sons, who, were at the bedside of their father when the end came. Mr. Bowden was well known throughout Weakley county, having spent a number of years as a traveling salesman and made most of the towns of the county. He was a popular man and his death has occasioned no small degree of sorrow among his friends and acquaintances. The funeral service was held at the Bowden home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Dr. I. N. Penick, followed by interrment at the west side cemetery by the side of his wife. To the bereaved the Enterprise extends profound sympathy.
