Joe C. Fregia, 81, of Liberty, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010, at the Bible Way Pentecostal Church with burial following at the Wilderness Cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Joe was born February 25, 1929 in Liberty, to parents; Oscar and Annie Green Fregia, and has resided in the Liberty area throughout his life. He was a retired mechanic, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on vehicles, church activities, and singing.

Mr. Fregia was preceded in death by his parents, wife: JoNeita Gilcrease Fregia, son: Richard Lee Fregia, daughter: Linda Mae Mericks, sister: Mildred Capps, and brother: Dennis Fregia. He is survived by his sons: Joseph Carl Fregia and wife Mary of Hull, Edward L. Fregia of Liberty, Don F. Fregia of Lufkin, Alvin L. Fregia and wife Ann of Liberty, and Oscar F. Fregia and wife Ferlie of Liberty, sister: Daisy Nugent of Liberty, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great great-grandchidlren, other relatives, and friends.
