JORDAN, Sam B. 79, Ripley, died November 23, 2010 at his home. He was retired from the City of Ripley as Commissioner of Street Department and also worked as a funeral director at McBride Funeral Home as an EMT for ambulance services for Tippah County Hospital. He was a member of Bluff springs Baptist Church in Ashland and a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Services were November 24 at noon at McBride Funeal Home Chapel with burial in Bluff Springs Cemetery. Bro Mike Smith officiated. Survivors include his wife, Eula Mae Derrick Jordan, Ripley; two daughters, Connie Alberson (Connie), Falkner and Ronda Rinehart (Charlie), Pickwick, TN; one brother, Jessie Jordan, Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren, Brandon Alberson, Breanna Alberson, Jordan Rinehart (Kelly), Megan Rinehart and Vickie Smithey (Jeremy); one ggrandchild, Lauryn Smithey.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Henry and Effie B. Cox Jordan; one daughter, Dianne Elmore; 7 brothers, Ferrell Jordan, Robert Jordan, Lee Jordan, Earl Jordan, William Austin Jordan, Ray Jordan and Joe B. Jordan.
Pallbearers were Chris Taylor, Stanley Jordan, Hal Jordan, Gary Phillips, Gary King, Chad Jordan, Johnny Childs and Tony Norwicki.
