Connie Kimball Wahlen, 54, of Aberdeen, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Connie was born November 5, 1956, in Oakland, California, to Clisbee Blaine and Gloria Greene Kimball. She attended and graduated from Monte Vista High School in Danville, Calif. After graduation she attended Brigham Young University, where she received her bachelor's degree in accounting.
While attending college she met Kim Wahlen and they were married on May 12, 1979, in the Oakland, California LDS Temple. Following college Kim and Connie made their home in Aberdeen, Idaho, where they made their living as farmers. Connie grew to love the farming life. She loved the community of Aberdeen and was proud to call it home
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled many callings including Relief Society president, Young Women's president and was a faithful visiting teacher. She was known to be a giver of selfless service and was always concerned for the welfare of others.
She loved working with numbers and used her accounting skills to the benefit of her family and community. She was also a talented pianist and enjoyed teaching lessons and playing for her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Kim, of Aberdeen; her children, Angie (Chandler) Daw of Blackfoot, Idaho, Jill (Shannon) Lucas of Clinton, Utah, Hailey (Marcus) Bradshaw of Aberdeen, Idaho, Tanner Wahlen of Aberdeen, Idaho, Garrett Wahlen, currently serving an LDS mission in Tempe Arizona, and Whitney Wahlen of Aberdeen, Idaho; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Jeff (Kathleen) Kimball, of Auburn, California, Scott (Shauna) Kimball, of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, Kathryn Carroll, of Danville, California, Deborah (Dave) Briggs, of Carlsbad, California. She was preceded death by her parents, Clisbee Blaine Kimball and Gloria Greene Kimball and her mother-in-law, Orva Marie Wahlen.
