Deaths In Monroe
Mrs Elizabeth S Nickell died at the home of Mrs W H Hogsett near Second Creek, this county, March 18, after a lengthy illness of dropsy, aged about 73 years. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Nickell by his first marriage, and was twice married, her second marriage being Mr Grier Nickell. Nearly the whole of her life was spent in Monroe county and she will be sadly missed by her many old friends. Mrs Nickell had for many years been a member of the Presbyterian church. She is survived by four sisters - Mrs Margaret Bailey, of Sinks Grove, Mrs Virginia Watss of Lewisburg, and Mrs Belle Hardy and Mrs Elvira Dameron, of Alleghany county, Virginia. She leaves no children.
Mrs Nickell was an aunt of Mrs Lewis F Bailey of this city.
