Private William H. Currin
Served with Co. F 16th Virginia Cavalry CSA during the War for Southern Independance of 1861-65 (AKA Civil War) Little is known what he did after the war until he was admited to the Confederate Veterans home in Higginsville MO. on April 10th 1909 when he was no longer able to support himself. He was collecting a Virginia State pension of $20 a month for his war service to that state. He died of Pneumonia at the Confederate Veterans Home on Oct. 26th 1914 at age 73
The Attached photo was taken from a 1950s vintage color negative which is starting to decompose so the copy is not the best quality. It appears that someone removed the original Ambrotype (Photo on glass)from the Homes records and replaced it with this copy, Of which a very poor condition negative remains. The Photos of his Grave & Cenetery were taken in Sept. 2001
