In Buckland, May 2, Thaddeus Rude, aged 62. He was a kind and benevolent neighbor, and a humble, zealous, and devout christian. As he drew near his death he was enabled calmly to face the king of terrors, and resign his spirit into the hands of God who gave it.

In the same house, May 29, Mr Alfred Smith, aged 25. Mr Smith was married a few hours previous to the death of his father-in-law (Mr T Rude,) and in his presence. He lived with his consort just four weeks. Mr S was hopefully pious from his youth, and in the season of sickness he was patient and resigned, often rejoicing aloud in the God of his salvation. - Com.

Alfred's will dated May 21, 1826 mentions his wife Mary F; his mother the Widow Deborah Smith; brothers David, Moses, Albert and Zephaniah; and his sisters Deborah Reed, Candace Sherman, Priscilla Henman, Jemima Smith.
