Funeral service for Mr. Lowell Luckner Dunham, 76, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Southview Church of Christ. Brother J. Clarence Denney and Bro. Brent Rice will officate. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Primitive Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Army.

Mr. Dunham passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at his residence. He was born on March 7, 1933 in Coosa County, Alabama to Grover Cleveland Dunham and Clarice Gardner Dunham Towns, He was a member of Southview Church of Christ. He was highly decorated Command Sergeant Major in the U. S. Army having received many medals including the Bronze Star. He served two tours of duty during the Korean War and one tour of duty during the Vietnam War. Following his retirement from the Army in 1974, he owned and operated Dunham Cabinet shop until 1984.

He is survived by his wife of eight years, Clara Murphy Dunham, Alexander City; daughters, Susan Clarice Dunham and Lynn Marie Dunham, both of Martinez, GA and Gina Anne Davis Price (Terry), Hattisburg, MS; sister, Anette Jones (Ralph), Barnesville, GA; brothers, Walter Dunham (Judith), James Norman Dunham, Douglas Dunham (Linda), Charles Dunham (Sherri), Larry Dunham(Lisa); sisters-in-law, Sarah Dunham, Rita Dunham, Hilma Dunham and Lena Shimomura (Neal); nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 46 years, Betty Powell Dunham; sisters, Gretren Smith and Daphne Hicks; brothers, Gerald Dunham, LaGrant Dunham and Grover Lomax Dunham.
