Funeral Services for Mrs. Ann Batson Sunday
Mrs. Susan Ann Batson died here Saturday afternoon at Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Batson Cemetery with the Rev. C. E. Bullock officiating. Davis Cozart was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Elbert and Aubrey Dowell, Cleve and Curtis Reed Batson and Hubert Skinner.
Mrs. Batson was born in Troy Ala., Oct. 28 1861. At her death, she was 84 years, 11 months, and 28 days old.
She came to Texas at the age of 16, settling in Madison county near the place where she had lived at the time of her death.
She was married to J. P. Batson, Jan. 8, 1883. To this union were born one daughter, Mrs. Nannie Dowell and one son, A. J. Batson.
She is survived by the son, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death about nine years ago.
She united with the Sand Prairie Baptist church before she was married.
