Robert Batson is the son of Seth Batson and Mary Fowler
Moved to Liberty County, Texas about 1840 and settled a few miles west of Beaumont. The Batson lands which they owned is now the town called Batson, Texas. One of the first largest oil-producing centers was located on this land.
After Seth died, Robert moved to Rogers Prairie, Leon Co., Texas. The Batsons purchased land and settled,
some in Leon and some in Madison county.
Robert first married Mary Rogers - 2 children
His 2nd marriage to Susan Hollis - 10 children
Robert gave each of his children 60 acres of land when they left home to begin a life of their own.
