Jerry Doris “Dobbin” George, 73, died Dec. 11, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He retired from Day-Brite Lighting after 25 years. He was a Mason and a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing.

Services were at Waters Funeral Home with burial in Kirkville Cemetery.

Survivors included his wife, Wilma George of Red Bay; three daughters, Darlene Gray of Kingman, Ariz., Joan Drayton of Oxford, Calif., and Kay George of Booneville; two sons, Jerry L. George of Arkansas and Michael George of Booneville; one stepson, Jeff Reid of Red Bay; three sisters, Shelby Smith of Guntown, Ella Barnes of Marietta and Martha Brown of Mantachie; three brothers, Edward George of Verona, Joe George of Fulton and Daniel George of Mantachie; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one stepgrandchild; a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Girlon George; and two sisters, Brenda Louise George and Nellie Yvonne Smith.
