An edit was sent to link David as son of Samuel Rush and Sarah Ann POWELL both born in Pennsylvania, who married November 28, 1827, Perry County, Ohio. However this appears to be incorrect. His parents are Samuel Rush and Catherine Wright.

David's father Samuel Rush a farmer, b1806 Penna. appears on 1850 census, Green Twp, Monroe County, Ohio, no wife listed.(page 19)

Samuel's wife was Catherine Wright, who died Nov 1849, likely buried somewhere in Greene Twp, Monroe County, Ohio.
"Samuel Rush married Lucinda Nicholson, Jan. 5 1851, Vermilion, Ill. She is daughter of Mary 'Conger' Wright's daughter Ruth Wright and her husband John Nicholson."

David's siblings on 1850 census are Ruben 20, Mary 18, Jemima (Gemima)17, Nancy 14, William 11, twins Hannah and Eleanor 5, and James 2. All born in Ohio except for William born VA.
Death record for Lucinda Nicholson Rush is Dec 1859 Champaign County, Illinois and could easily be buried here with David.

I am seeking burial location for David's parents Samuel and Catherine. Samuel Rush and Lucinda likely buried Old Homer Cemetery. Lucinda "Nicholson" Rush is listed on the Mortality Schedule in Champaign County, 1860. Lucinda died December 1859.

David married Mary Eleanor/Ellen HICKENBOTTOM/Higginbotham, and they had 9 known children.

There is descrepancy of David's birthplace which is given as Virginia on death certificate of their son William Rush born 1864, died 1932 Kankakee, Illinois.

David and Mary appear on the 1850 census, Monroe County, Ohio where he is a farmer, with son George 1.

They are listed on 1860 census, Champaign, Illinois with children William 6, born Ohio, Belle 4 and Catherine 2 both born Illinois.

1870 census, Vermilion, Illinois finds David and Mary with children William 16, Bell 14, Jane 10, Mary 7, Rosey 5, and Van Meter 1 mon.

Delilah Catherine Rush married John Dorsy Wood, May 15, 1878, Champaign, Illinois.

The 1880 census indicates David was a farmer. Those in the household are William T, Sarah Jane, Mary Ellen, Roseanna, Van Meter and James W.

Daughter Rosanna Rush married Wiley Silus Jenkins, July 4, 1886, Homer, Champaign, ILL. She died July 18, 1918 , St. Joseph, Champaign, Ill. Wiley died in 1942.

Son James Wiley Rush married Lillian/Lillie M. Davidson in 1893 Moultrie, Illinois.
James W. Rush married Della May Brown in 1940, Indiana.

Information from a Rush family descendant: " David's father, Samuel and two of his brothers, Paul and Peter Jr., all purchased land adjoining their father's land in Tyler County through the Virginia Land Grant program in 1838. The area where the Rush families lived in Tyler County, Wileysville, is now in Wetzel County, West Virginia.
Peter Rush, Samuel's father was married circa 1796 in either Bedford or Fayette County, Pennsylvania, to Elizabeth Stull, daughter of Paul Stull and his wife Mary. All of the known children of Peter and Elizabeth "Stull" Rush including Samuel were born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
David's parents, Samuel and Catherine "Wright" Rush, had one son while living in Tyler County, he was William who later married Ellen Nicholson, this marriage is recorded in Vermilion County Illinois Marriage records."

He is a son of Matthew and Mary (Alexander) Laflen, who came to Wetzel County in 1849, and his wife is Phebe, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Stull) Rush, who settled in Wetzel County in 1830. Gravesite Details

I am told David is buried at this cemetery with wife and family, though I found no death record. His father Samuel & Lucinda may also be buried here, possibly on stone with Ellen. Thanks to Michael Coan for taking photos of this cemetery!
