~0bit~Dorothy Grace Baty, 105, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care, Cedar Rapids, formerly of Troy Mills, died on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at the care center. Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 15, 2007, at the Troy Mills Christian Church by Rev. James Wolfe. There will be no visitation. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include her daughter, Mary J. Walton of Marion; two grandchildren, Lynne Cassidy of Troy Mills and Craig (Laura) Walton of Cedar Rapids; six great-grandchildren, Chad (Rachel) Walton, Christopher (Elizabeth) Chrystal. Lindy (Justin) Fox, Shannon (Jon) McGraw, Cassie (Eric) Trask and Lauren Walton; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, an infant daughter, Lorraine; three brothers, William, Clifford and Lowell; two sisters, Josephine Powell and Merle Vantasel; a great-grandson, Garrett Walton; and a grandson-in-law, Curt Cassidy. Dorothy was born October 5, 1902, the daughter of Arthur and Lucinda Whisennand Dudley, in Troy Mills, Iowa. On September 20, 1926, she was united in marriage to Walter Baty in Independence, Iowa. He died November 4, 1997. Dorothy helped her husband farm for many years. She was a member of the Troy Mills Christian Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
