LUNG TROUBLE
It Resulted in the Death of Alexander Stewart Saturday
Alexander Stewart, an esteemed citizen of Hickory township, passed into eternal rest on Saturday evening, March 11. Lung trouble, with which the deceased had been ill for some time, was the cause of death. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. Stewart was a carpenter by trade and has resided in Hickory township for the last 47 years. In 1852 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Speer, who survives him. Their home was an ideal one, wnaed the noble example of the father and wise precepts of the mother, were stamped indelibly on the characters of their children, of whom there are four living: Rev. J. A. Stewart, missionary at Syria, T.A. Stewart, of New York City; Mrs. S.B. McClelland, of Harrison Street; and Mrs. S.A. Keys, of Hickory Township.
The deceased was an elder in the Reformed Presbyterian church, and was a man of great force of character and oncompromising integrity. He will be deeply morned not only by his family, but by a large circle of friends as well. By his demise and examplary Christian man and a good citizen is lost to the community.
Funeral on Monday from his late residence, at 3 P.M. Interment at Neshannock U.P. church.
