Charlie was a stockman in eastern Idaho in the late 1870's and early 1880's and led a political life, being a delegate to the State Convention and the State Legislature. He also served two terms as Mayor of Kearney, Nebraska.

On August 24 1879 he married Ella A Stout in Blackfoot, Bingham County, Idaho. In 1890 he is found to be a partner in Andrews & Hull in Kearney and involved in the raising of celery for the commercial market.

Charlie succumbed to Rheumatism of the Heart as headlined in the obituary in a Kearney, Nebraska newspaper. Aged 54 years.
