He was married in 1868 to Miss Louise Kregel in this city. There were born to them 8 children, three boys and five girls, three of whom are dead. Minnie died when five years old, Mary when 22, and William when 17 years of age. He leaves a wife and five children besides other relatives and a very large concourse of friends to mourn his death. He was a devout member of the Lutheran Church and held the position of treasurer for the past 25 years and was loved and respected by all who had the honor of his acquaintance. The funeral was held Saturday at his late home under the auspices of the Lutheran church. Rev. Janzig officiating with interment in the family cemetery. The funeral was a large one and was attended by a large number from abroad. The Press joins with the friends of the family in extending sympathy to the bereaved family in the loss of a kind father and devoted husband.
