Son of William and Agnes Guest.

Miles Jackson Guest was born in Barnwell District , SC and with his parents they moved to Tattnall County , Georgia and soon afterwards he met and married Hulda Kight of Clinch County and a sister to Hiram Kight .

About 1835 they moved to Ware County and was granted land from the State in the 8th district ; which he cleared a lot of land and built his home and operated a large plantation near the present village of Manor, in Ware County, Ga.
In 1861 he exchanged some of his land to Duncan Giddens for land in the Northern Clinch County consisting of about 3000 acres and a plantation, a mill pond and water mill , he lived there until his death in 1865 ..

His wife Hulda Guest and the Rev. Guilford Lastinger were administrators on Miles estate and they sold the Guest holdings to Fisher Griffin in 1866 ..
The rest of the property was sold at a sheriff's sale in 1868 to John Moore , which he operated the water mill until 1880 's ; when he sold it to Francis Marion Guest ; Miles youngest son who still ran the business until he died in 1907 ..

Miles Jackson Guest served three terms as Sheriff of Ware County (1836-1838) , (1844-1846) , (1850-1852) .. He was Deputy Clerk of the Superior court a short while .
He was in the INDIAN WAR where he served as PRIVATE in Capt. David J. Miller's Company of Ware County Militia in 1838 ..
